Anticipation

I really can't believe that summer is already here! As I step into this 3 month season of my life, I am so excited about what the Lord has in store. I will be spending the next 3 weeks, before heading back to school for all of June, at home in Austin, with my family, working, resting, and preparing myself physically, emotionally and spiritually for what the Lord wants to do when I leave for Burundi on July 14th(I'll say more about this trip as it gets closer). Thinking about summer I cannot imagine what it's going to look like, who I will meet, and what I will be doing. But I am so ready for whatever God wants to throw my way, for I know that He is my provider, sustainer, and rock. As long as He's with me, I cannot be shaken, and will not be moved.  Today as I prayed, I made a list of things I want the Father to teach me:

-To love people, in a radical way, not a pat on the back, occasional smile love. But deep heart-wrenching love. The kind that explodes in the heart of Jesus has when He looks down at His hurting and broken children.
-Wholehearted Obedience
-How to be a servant with complete abandon to my flesh and complete dependence on His strength and spirit.
-How to memorize scripture and truly be able to use His word as my sword
-To be a prayer warrior, for those around me, in all situations and for the nations, that I would remove restrictions on how and where to pray, but that I would  follow His prompting and know what it means to be always prayerful.
-New passion for His truth and sharing it where ever I am with boldness and confidence.

These are just a few of the many and I'm ready for the Lord to completely rearrange my heart, deal with my junk, and transform my life this summer. I'm anticipating the journey and we'll see where He takes me.

By His Grace,
Mel
