lions, and stars

I have been thinking about something Lewis wrote, he says "Safe...Who said anything about safe? 'course he isn't safe. But he is good."

This is the attiutude with which I want to live this summer with. Not with safety being my idol, but with my heart lost in the mystery of our one great love. Other friends of mine who are going to places that are more "dangerous" than the places that some of us are going to be this summer, they are the ones that i have in mind when i talk about this quote. we must cast down our all idols, and that includes ones that are cleverly disguised as normal, such as a preoccupation(sp?) with safety, love of money, etc. we must put to death these aspects of our american upbringing.

another thing that has been popping up a lot in my life is that we must shine like stars in our generation. (julia paraphrase) this phrase has been coming up in my life through song, scripture, friends and such all this week. I'm still working out what this means for me, besides the obvious instruction in that phrase, and trying to see what it will look like for me personally. PR for my walk of obedience, ask Father that he would strengthen my heart and hands for the plowing, sowing, reaping, and relationships that will be made.
I really miss you C &L on sunday nights when i feel the need to hop in my car and drive to your home. oh well, we will see each other soon.
