I leave for Montana in 9 days! I'm super excited! But I'm finding out that with that feeling of excitement comes a bit of nervousness too. I'm glad for that though, because being nervous has made me really press into Him since I have been home. In result he has done some amazing things in the past few weeks and I just wanted to share what he has been doing in my life, and in the lives of my family. This is just one of the stories of what He has been doing so far this summer.
My family does not hold very strongly to Christian values and frankly gets nervous when someone mentions "God" in their presence. A couple weekends ago I was visiting my sister (who has two kids, a daughter who is 16 and a son who is 21) and while I was there a unique conversation came up in a unique way. Before I showed up I was praying that God would in some way show himself. Which turned out to be a very bold prayer to pray considering the events that followed. I showed up at her house and everyone was sitting in the living room watching a basketball game. A few seconds after I show up someone yells, "what the (cuss word here) is John 3:16". Ha, God works in awesome ways :) So, I kind of looked at him and was like "I can tell you" and what followed was basically me laying out the gospel to them. It was an awesome, strange, unique 30 minutes. Never has my family been anything remotely interested in hearing about our wonderful God, but that night was an awesome display of God's power.
Keep myself and my family in your prayers as I prepare to leave for Montana!
