Grasping Grace

Sometimes I have a very hard time being really resting in the Lord's grace.

He's so worthy. And I fall so incredibly short. It's hard to accept grace from a perfect king who deserves so much more than I can give.

I feel like a beggar in dirty torn rags, with smelly messy hair, and mud drenched skin, lying on a sparkling floor inside a gorgeous palace at the feet of a majestic, beautiful, and mighty king. Yet despite my mess, He scoops me into His arms and washes me clean, gives me new clothes, and feeds me. I'm so unworthy.

But somehow our savior loves to love us. We come to Him broken, He mends us. We come to Him grieving, He comforts us. Then after all He gives us we still find ourselves being continually disobedient, He forgives us. We sin, He dies for us.

I don't know what to do with love like that.

I certainly don't do near enough.

But yet again, my weaknesses and failures are trampled by His grace for me.

This overwhelms me.

Just some thoughts.

Hey, Mel...it's Kim...talked about prayer one night with you all...
I wanted you to know how really close you are to grasping what we must remember in the Father's presence. Read Zechariah 3 and realize that not only are you not alone...you feel exactly as you should. But remember to see Christ rebuke Satan on your behalf as He does for Joshua when this condition plagues you with unworthiness. Feel Jesus Himself wash you clean and give you new garments and say to you...I have given you right of access to My courts. You belong here. You are mine.

In this passage Christ gives Joshua one command...walk in His ways and keep His charge. That's what you're doing as you go make disciples of the nations...keeping His charge. While you do it, walk in His ways...always remembering the stench that once covered you. If you do this then as you approach those who are filthy, you will remember and turn to them to offer the One who washed you clean.

I'm grateful to pray for you...
